Rob Davis Portrait

Rob Davis is a cinematographer and still photographer based in New Orleans, Louisiana. He started out as a freelance newspaper photojournalist in Florida in 2005, creating images that were published in major publications and on the front pages of many regional and national newspapers.  After moving to New Orleans in 2008, he also began collaborating on film productions, lensing two feature films.  The comedy Trailer Park Jesus, directed by Sean Gerowin, won the audience award at the 2012 New Orleans Film Festival and went on to be featured at numerous other festivals, winning several more awards.  Davis’ directorial debut, the 2014 feature documentary Oil & Water, which he co-wrote with producer David Winkler-Schmit, was recently finished and is currently being considered by festivals.  From shooting portraits to documentaries to scripted films and commercials, his work varies in medium and form but his mission is consistent: to tell stories with images.
